Age Verification System - SFW Lander Pages Print

  • 0

PLEASE READ!

Elevated X provides a default framework for Age Verification that complies with the basic requirements of blocking ALL CONTENT prior to a viewer verifying their age via a 3rd party AVS service.

Many locations consider both graphical/image elements AND text to fall under age verification requirements. We strongly advise all users of our software to consult a licensed attorney who specializes in adult industry law or age verification matters.

It is the recommendation of Elevated X that users of this AVS lander setup, make the most minimal changes possible, taking care in avoiding use of a logo, images, text, or any other media that could be interpreted by anyone as being adult oriented or sexual in nature.

Overview of the AVS Lander System:

The AVS Lander system is new functionality that shows a minimal site / banner within AVS related locations with the intent of providing a default setup to ensure no presence of any potentially adult related material, imagery, or text copy. This AVS setup requires visitors and existing account holders to sign up if not already an account holder, and regardless of status, to verify their age via a 3rd party AVS service to access content on the site.

Template Update Requirements:

If you are using the Core template framework, make sure the /avs/ folder is present within your phptemplate/core folder. If not, please open a support ticket to request setup of an updated set of templates in order to have this functionality.

If you use an older set of templates such as classic, elegantmodern or sleekmodern, you will need the /avs/ subfolder within that template folder as well. Older templates also require a new CSS file. A copy of avs_style.css needs to be within your site area folders as well.

Enabling AVS:

AVS is activated on a per-area level, by going into the CMS admin panel, clicking the gear at the top, Manage Site Areas, and editing an area. Within each area, the "Age Verification (AVS)" setting must be set to "Show SFW Landing Page".

Join Page:

If you are using Elevated X Complete, you shouldn't have to make any changes to the templates for this to work.

Regardless of which Elevated X service or software configuration you use, if you utilize NATS or have a custom join page, you will need to make sure your join page functionality is present within /avs/join.tpl

* IMPORTANT - You will also need to manually edit both the /avs/AVS_loggedin.tpl and /avs/AVS_notloggedin.tpl files and replace all instances of href="join.php" with the correct URL of your AVS compliant/Safe-For-Work (SFW) signup page.

Editing Lander Pages and Design:

All files are editable, however, we strongly advise against modification and any changes to the default files may result in non-compliant content being introduced that does not comply with state, federal, or foreign laws regarding age verification for adult content and will be done at your own risk.

Inside the /avs/ folder within your /phptemplate/ folder are the files used by the AVS lander system:

AVS_custompages.tpl - a default compliant template used for custom pages show to users who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_footer.tpl - a default compliant template used for the site footer shown to users who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_forgot.tpl - a default compliant template used for the forgot password page shown to users who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_join.tpl - a default compliant template used for adding your existing join form or creating a SFW join page shown to users who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_loggedin.tpl - a default compliant website home page used for users who have a free or paid account, but who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_notloggedin.tpl - a default compliant website home page used for site visitors who do not have a login, and have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_odlogin.tpl - a default compliant template used for the sign in page shown to users who have NOT yet verified their age

AVS_register.tpl - a default compliant template used for the free account/store/VOD registration page shown to users who have NOT yet verified their age

ELX Complete users have an editable join page template, located in the /phptemplate/ folder for each site under /elxc/AVS_join.tpl - Please contact our support staff for guidance on with customization.
